old extensions in Firefox VMware Player 5.3
Who's customized Firefox with many extensions has, knows the problem: at each major releases (2.x -> 3, 3 -> 3.5), some extensions disabled because this new non-specifically for the Firefox version are released. ran config and confirm that you actually know what you do, it also comes from the Firefox parameters that are not accessible from the "normal" control panels:
by typing about.
Per -> right click -> New -> Boolean I create two new variables ...
extensions.checkCompatibility
extensions.checkUpdateSecurity
... both get the value false.
After restarting Firefox then the extensions are active again, are not even considered for the current Firefox.
Attention: it is not guaranteed, of course, that an old extension with the new Firefox really work properly ...
